How to use Your Account

Why create an account?

Creating an account at Bolt Depot is optional, but gives you several benefits. With an account, you can:

  • Save your shipping information for faster and easier checkouts
  • Optionally save your credit card information for quick and secure payment
  • Save shopping carts to be purchased later
  • View previous and current orders
  • Easily replicate a previous order
  • Print invoices for previous and current orders
  • Get a quote on saved shopping carts

How do I create an account?

After placing an order you will have the option of creating an account.

You can also create an account here, without placing an order.

In order to create an account you must enter your email address and a password. This information is used to log into your account. We do not share your email address with anyone and you will only receive order related emails from Bolt Depot if you specifically request our newsletter.

Accessing Your Account

Your email address together with your password is used to identify you as a customer.

To access Your Account, simply click "Your Account" in the upper right corner of the website. If you are not already signed in, you will be asked to provide your email address and password.

What if I forget my password?

To access your account, you need to know your email address and password. If you forget or lose your password, you can change it here. Note that, for security reasons, any saved credit card information will be deleted when you change your password.

If you have problems accessing your account, feel free to contact customer service.

Account details

Under Account Details, you can update your preferred shipping address (This is the address that is filled out by default when you check out an order). You can always change your shipping address during checkout, if necessary. Note that if you change your shipping address during checkout the new address will be saved and used as the default for future orders.

Remember that if you change your email address, you must use the new email address to log into your account in the future.

Viewing your orders

Your past and present orders can be viewed on the Your Orders page. Clicking an order will display complete order details including order items, date placed, shipping details, order total and package tracking information.

Tracking shipments

Recently placed orders are shown as “Active” until they have left our door. Once picked up by UPS they will be marked as shipped and you can use the tracking number to view the status of your package (note that tracking numbers may not be active in the UPS system until a few hours after packages have been shipped).

Viewing/printing invoices

A packing slip with the complete order specification is always sent along with your order. However, if you need to view or print an invoice for your order, click the “View invoice” icon in the "Your Orders" list.

You can view or print an invoice as soon as the order has been placed.

Replicating a previous order

You can add the items from a previous order to your current cart, useful if you frequently place orders with similar items.

To add the items from an order to your cart, click the order to view order details. At the bottom, click the link “Add these items to your cart”. Note that any items already in your cart when you add these items to your cart will be removed. After loading the previous order you can add additional items, remove items, or modify quantities as normal.

Managing shopping carts

With your account, you can save shopping carts and load them back when you are ready to check out.

Saving a shopping cart

To save the contents of your current shopping cart, click the yellow “Edit/Checkout” button to view your cart. Click the Save Cart button, located under the list of items.

To easily identify the cart later, you can label each cart with a name that describes it.

Loading a shopping cart

Clicking Saved Carts under Your Account shows a list of your saved shopping carts. To load a cart click the “Load Cart” icon. Note that the current contents of your cart will be replaced with the saved cart. After the saved cart is loaded you can add additional items, modify quantities or remove items as normal.

Getting a quote

If you save a cart, you can view and/or print a quote for that cart, including shipping costs. To do this, click the “Get Quote” icon in the Saved Carts list. The quote will be valid for as long as the cart is valid (30 Days from when it is saved).

To place the order that was quoted, simply load the cart back and check it out with the chosen shipping method.

How long will my cart be saved for?

Shopping carts are saved for 30 days.

Credit cards

You can save credit cards to avoid having to enter card details each time you checkout. You will find a list of your saved credit cards on the Credit Cards page under Your Account.

Credit Card Security

Storing credit cards on Bolt Depot is secure:

  • Once you save a credit card number nobody (including the Bolt Depot staff) will be able to see the full card number.
  • Your credit cards are protected using your password so they can only be accessed by you.
  • If you leave your computer for more than 1 hour, you will be automatically logged out of your account.
  • Once an order is placed we can credit your card but we cannot add any additional charge unless you supply the credit card information again.
  • You can permanently delete your credit card information at any time. See deleting a credit card.
  • If you change your password for any reason all of your credit cards will be deleted.
  • The Bolt Depot website is scanned a minimum of once a day by McAfee to verify that it is secure.

Saving a credit card

You can choose to save your credit card when you enter new credit card details during checkout as a registered customer.

Alternatively, you can add a card on the Credit Cards page of Your Account.

Using a saved credit card when ordering

When you check out as a registered customer, you will be able to choose from your saved credit cards on the payment page, or you can enter a new credit card. New credit cards will only be saved if you check ‘save credit card’ when entering them.

Deleting a credit card

You may delete a credit card at any time by clicking the corresponding “Delete” button on the Credit Cards page in Your Account.

Signing out

If want to log out of your account simply click “Sign Out” from Your Account.
