Ordering online
This page provides step by step assistance in using the Bolt Depot web site. In order to purchase a product from the Bolt Depot web site you will have to:
- Find the product in our catalog
- Add the item(s) to your cart
- Complete the Checkout
Ordering by phone
If for any reason you prefer to order by phone you can call us toll free at 1-866-337-9888 (Monday-Friday 8 am to 6 pm EST and Saturday 8 am - 5 pm EST). We will be happy to help you.
How do I identify what I need?
In order to shop on the Bolt Depot web site you will need to know the type and size and material of the fastener you are looking for. We have provided images throughout our catalog to assist you in identifying the product you are looking for. In addition our Information and Tables page has useful information on how to measure different fasteners.
How do I locate products in the catalog?
- Open the product catalog by clicking on the gray Product Catalog tab, located near the top of the web site.
- Chose a fastener category and click on the name of the category to enter that section of the site.
- You will now see a page that lists different styles within the category you chose. Underneath each style will be a list of materials that the style is available in. Find the style you want and click on the material you want directly underneath it.
- You will now see a list of diameters. Select the diameter you are looking for by clicking on it.
Note: For products without differing lengths such as nuts you will be taken directly to the products skip to step 5.
What the numbers mean
Please see our Information and Tables page for information on how various fasteners are measured.
- You will now see a list of our products with the specifications you chose with pricing information for individual pieces, boxes and (optionally) bulk quantities, as well as the quantity contained in a box.
How do I purchase the items?
To purchase items on Bolt Depot you will need to add them to your cart. This is just like an electronic version of a supermarket cart. It will collect all of the items you want to buy, and bring them to our checkout. You can view and edit the items in your cart at any time.
How do I add items to my cart?
Once you have found the item you want to purchase:
- Determine whether you want individual pieces of full boxes.
- Enter the number of pieces, boxes or bulk quantities in the corresponding (box, piece, bulk) white field marked Buy, next to the item you wish to purchase.
- Finally click the button labeled add to the immediate right of the quantity you entered to place that item in your cart.
Note: If you do not click add, the item will NOT be added to your cart.
The item you added to your cart will be displayed at the top of the window just below the green tab in a white box labeled Your Cart.

How do I view the contents of my cart?
There are two ways to view the contents of your cart:
Quick View
Click on the gray down arrow in the green banner next to the last item you purchased. This will drop down a list of the items in your cart.
Note: Some item descriptions in this field may be cut off because they are too long to fit in the box.
Full View
Click on the edit cart button located in the upper right hand area of the window within the green banner. This will take you to the cart page where you can see and edit the entire contents of your cart.
To return to the catalog simply click on the catalog tab at the top of the window.
How do I edit my cart?
To edit your cart first click on the edit cart button located in the upper right hand area of the window within the green banner. This will take you to the cart page where you can see and edit the entire contents of your cart.
Removing items
To remove an item click on the delete button to the right of that item. The cart will automatically refresh.
Adding additional items
To add new items to the cart simply browse through the catalog and follow the add items procedure above.
Changing quantities
If you need to change the quantity of an item that is in your cart simply fill in the new quantity in the Quantity field to the right of the item description and then press the update button in the lower left hand corner of the screen.
Note if you do not press update no change will be made.
  
How do I check out?
Getting to the checkout
From the web site
Click on the checkout button to the far right in the green banner at the top of the screen.
From the edit cart page
Click the continue checkout button on the right hand side of the page.
The checkout process
Checkout is four simple steps.

Cart
On this page simply review your order to make sure it is correct and click continue checkout on the right hand side of the page to continue to the next step.

Shipping
On this page enter the information on
where you want your order shipped, as well as what shipping
method you would like to use. (Note: We cannot
ship to P.O. Boxes.) When you are finished click continue
checkout on the right hand side of the page to continue
to the next step.

Payment
On this page enter the credit card information
for the card you will be paying with. When you are finished
click continue checkout on the right hand side of the
page to continue to the next step.
Note: Your card is not charged until after you
confirm your order.

Review & Confirm
On this page you have the opportunity to review your
entire order including the shipping information. If you
need to change anything simply click on the corresponding
edit button. When you are done click continue checkout
until you are back at the review and confirm page.
When your order is completed to your satisfaction click
the place order button to submit your order.
